Chattogram: The port city has reported nine more Covid-19 cases out of 179 tests conducted in the last 24 hours within the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these new cases bring the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chattogram to 99 over the past 17 days. This information was provided by Dr. Jahangir Alam, the Civil Surgeon of Chattogram. He mentioned that Covid-19 testing is being conducted in 11 different laboratories, including the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) RT-PCR lab.
Currently, 77 patients who tested positive for the virus are receiving treatment at various designated hospitals in the area. Of the 99 individuals diagnosed, 88 are residents of the port city itself, while the remaining 11 are from different upazilas.
The district has recorded six fatalities related to the virus. Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury emphasized that the Health Department has implemented comprehensive measures to curb the spread of the virus. He urged all residents to avoid crowded places and to wear masks as a precautionary measure.
