Mother, Infant Daughter Electrocuted in Magura

Magura: A woman and her infant daughter tragically died after being electrocuted at Tila village in Sadar upazila here this morning. The deceased were Setu Khatun, 35, wife of Awal Hossain, a resident of the same village, and her 8-month-old daughter Anisa.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, family sources revealed that the mother and daughter were electrocuted together while connecting the power to the rice cooker. They were immediately rescued and rushed to the 250-bed Magura District Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.



Sub-Inspector of Magura Sadar Police Station, Wahidul Sheikh, confirmed the incident, adding to the community’s shock and grief over the sudden loss.
