Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has declared that mob action in any form will no longer be tolerated. “The instigators of mob violence will be brought to book,” he stated while responding to a question after attending a program at the DMP Headquarters.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP chief emphasized that action will be taken if any police officer is found guilty of mishandling a mob situation. This statement comes in the wake of recent incidents involving mobs, highlighting a growing concern within the law enforcement community.

Commissioner Ali also revealed that one person has already been arrested in connection with a mob incident that occurred during the arrest of former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda from his residence in Uttara on Sunday evening. The process of filing a case in this regard is currently underway, he added.
