Covid-19 Cases Rise in Chattogram with Two Deaths Reported

Chattogram: Two people died and 12 more Covid-19 cases were reported during the last 24 hours in the district. With these new cases, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chattogram has reached 74 in the past 15 days, said Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Jahangir Alam mentioned that Coronavirus tests are currently being conducted in 12 different laboratories including Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and Chattogram General Hospital. Currently, 55 infected patients are undergoing treatment at various designated hospitals in the area.



Of the total 74 COVID-19 cases, 62 are residents of the port city while the remaining 12 are from different upazilas. With one new death recorded during the period, the death toll has reached four in Chattogram district. Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that the Health Department has implemented comprehensive measures to prevent the outbreak of further infections.



He urged people from all walks of life to avoid crowds and wear masks to curb the spread of the virus.
