Dhaka: The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) will commemorate Olympic Day 2025 on Tuesday, June 24, as part of the global initiative by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to promote the Olympic movement.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BOA will mark "Olympic Day" in the capital and seven other divisions across the nation, under the slogan "Let's Move," as stated in a press release. Olympic Day is celebrated globally on June 23 each year to honor the founding anniversary of the International Olympic Committee.
To celebrate the occasion, the BOA has planned a grand rally that will start from the Bangladesh Shishu Academy at 6.30 am and end at the National Stadium gate no 1. The rally will pass through Education Bhaban, Bangladesh Secretariat, Zero Points, and GPO. General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff and BOA president, is anticipated to attend the rally as the chief guest.
More than 2,000 sports enthusiasts from various military and civilian organizations, including national-level athletes, coaches, and officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, will join the rally. The International Olympic Committee, along with Square Food and Beverage Limited and Shelltech Private Limited, will provide financial support for the event.
Following the rally, a cultural program will be performed by the Bangladesh Army's orchestra team. Participants in the rally will receive T-shirts and certificates as part of the celebration.
