4 Terrorists Arrested, Weapons and Drugs Seized in Khulna

Khulna: A joint forces team arrested four terrorists from the City’s Tutpara area early today after conducting a three-and-a-half-hour drive, said a press release issued by Khondokar Hossain Ahmed, assistant commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP). The arrested individuals have been identified as Salahuddin Molla Bulbul, 44, Towhidur Rahman, 42, Arif Hossain, 31, and Tasfiqur Rahman, 19, all residents of the Tutpara area.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was initiated based on secret information, with a joint forces team consisting of the Bangladesh army and police commencing their drive around 1.30 am today. The operation resulted in the seizure of one foreign pistol, two rounds of bullets, one revolver, one shotgun, four rounds of cartridges, 105 yaba tablets, passports, mobile phones, and numerous sharp weapons from the possession of the arrested individuals.



Police have filed a drugs and arms case against the arrested individuals with the Khulna police station. The press release further stated that the operation is ongoing to investigate whether any criminal incidents have been committed using the recovered illegal weapons. Authorities aim to interrogate the accused, trace the source of the illegal firearms and bullets, determine their potential use in terrorist activities, and uncover those involved in the purchase and sale of firearms. Efforts are also underway to arrest other associated terrorists and recover additional illegal weapons and ammunition.



The press release also revealed that, upon reviewing police station records, information was found indicating that there are three cases against Salahuddin Molla Bulbul and one case against Towhidur Rahman at Khulna Sadar Police Station.
