Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bangladesh's full Test status with a series of events planned across the nation from June 21 to 28.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BCB will commemorate this significant milestone by organizing Under-12 Six-a-side Cricket Competitions and Celebrations in various divisional cities throughout the country. The initiative aims to boost the popularity of cricket among future generations and bring joy to people from different backgrounds.
The celebrations will include tournaments and festivities in major divisional cities, featuring grassroots cricket activities and interactive fan experiences. The schedule for the events is as follows: Khulna Divisional Stadium on June 21, Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on June 22, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on June 23, Chattogram District Stadium on June 24, Riya Gope Women's Sports Complex in Dhaka on June 25, and both Rangpur Cricket Garden and Jibanananda Das Stadium in Barishal on June 28. All activities will occur from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Special activities planned for the celebration include Parental/Free-for-All Coaching sessions, where divisional coaches will provide basic cricketing insights to guardians. A Pacer Hunt/Measure Your Pace initiative will scout talent among students holding valid school, college, or university IDs. Fans can also engage in live commentary on historic Test moments in the Commentary Booth, participate in an Art Competition in collaboration with Divisional 'Shilpakala Academies,' and take part in a 'Hit the Stump' challenge. Additionally, a 'Good Luck' Wish Board will be available for visitors to leave written wishes for Bangladesh's Test cricket future.
These celebrations mark a significant moment for Bangladesh cricket, reflecting on the journey so far and inspiring young cricketers to dream big.
