Mymensingh: Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and an ambulance on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat Highway this afternoon. The identities of the deceased have not yet been established.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic accident occurred around 5:30 pm near the Himalaya filing station in the Ramchandrapur area under Tarakanda upazila. Officer-in-Charge of Tarakanda Police Station, Tipu Sultan, reported that the auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Mymensingh-bound ambulance, which resulted in the deaths and left four others injured.
Upon receiving information about the accident, police from the concerned thana promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased are currently being held at the police station, awaiting handover to their family members.
The police have begun the process of filing a case regarding the incident.
