Lalmonirhat: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 25.5 kg of ganja from the Talukbani Nagar area under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district on early Thursday. An operational team from the RAB-13 Rangpur battalion headquarters conducted a drive, searched a microbus, and recovered a large quantity of smuggled ganja. The microbus was seized and the duo was arrested at around 6:05 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the detainees have been identified as Md Sajib Islam, 27, son of Md Tauhidul Islam of Noyapara village, and Md Ashraful Islam, 25, son of late Sayed Ali of Jamilapur village under Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur district. After filing a case in this connection, the arrested individuals, along with the seized ganja and the microbus, were handed over to Kaliganj Police Station for further legal action.
