Noakhali: A construction worker died after falling from the roof of an under-construction building in Companiganj upazila today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as M. Alauddin, 37, son of Mohammad Ullah, a resident of Boro Bari of Gazirbagh village under Batiya union in Kabirhat upazila. The incident occurred around 12:15 pm while Alauddin was working on the roof of a building under construction in the Hospital Road area of Basurhat municipality. Witnesses reported that he fell from the roof due to carelessness.
He was immediately rushed to the upazila health complex, but the on-duty doctors declared him dead upon arrival, as confirmed by Sub-Inspector Md. Abu Kausar of Companiganj Police Station.
