Dhaka: Gas supply to the national grid has suffered a setback due to hurdle of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargo berthing to Floating Storage Re-gasification Unit (FSRU) at Moheshkhali as inclement weather is being experienced in the sea. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Petrobangla statement revealed that LNG supply to the national grid has been severely affected as LNG cargo berthing at the deep-sea FSRU at Maheshkhali was not possible on Tuesday and Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions. Petrobangla indicated that low gas pressure was being experienced in areas under Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited and Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd due to the reduction in LNG supply to the national gas grid. The statement assured that LNG cargo berthing will commence as soon as the weather conditions normalize. Petrobangla also extended a sincere apology for the temporary inconvenience caused to the public.
