Dhaka: Speakers at a seminar today emphasized that youth engagement is vital for constructing an equitable Bangladesh, asserting that the government has the potential to shape a new nation by leveraging the power of its youth. They underscored the need for the rule of law and sustainable development, urging the government to adopt proactive measures.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these insights were shared during a seminar titled “Bangladesh of Tomorrow in the Thoughts of Youth,” held at the Khulna Regional Information Office (PID) in the city. Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman Pradhan, Principal of Azam Khan Government Commerce College, addressed the audience as the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the skills, creativity, and industrious mindset of the youth for the nation’s advancement.
“Building a developed, prosperous, and modern Bangladesh depends on the youth-it has been our long-cherished dream,” he stated. Following the July Movement, he emphasized that the young generation must now rebuild the country, equipping themselves with skills relevant to contemporary times.
He further pointed out that one-third of Bangladesh’s population consists of youth, and this demographic advantage must be harnessed for the nation to achieve significant progress. The seminar was presided over by Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Khulna Regional Information Office, ASM Kabir, while Md. Mehedi Al Masud, Assistant Director of the Divisional Department of Social Services, presented the keynote paper.
Md. Atikur Rahman Mufti, Assistant Information Officer at the Regional Information Office, participated as a discussant. The event witnessed the participation of 40 college students, teachers, PID officers, among others, who expressed their strong commitment to building a corruption-free and merit-based developed Bangladesh.
