Dhaka: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has assured that the Election Commission will deliver a fair and well-accepted election to the nation. He made this statement during a post-Eid meeting aimed at exchanging views with commissioners and officials of the Election Commission (EC) held at the Nirbachon Bhaban in Agargaon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, significant progress has been made on most of the pending works related to the upcoming general elections. The CEC mentioned that the remaining tasks are nearing completion and will soon receive their final touches. He expressed his appreciation for the EC officials, noting their ability to complete tasks within the given timeframe.
The CEC emphasized the commitment of the commission to operate neutrally, without bias towards any political party, and to execute their responsibilities according to the rule of law and personal judgment. He stated that the commission will act as a referee, irrespective of the political players involved, with the duty of ensuring a level playing field.
Highlighting the Chief Adviser's pledge to both the nation and the international community, the CEC expressed the intention to deliver a historic election. He attributed the Chief Adviser's confidence in the commission to its capability and dedication to the electoral process.
