Rajshahi: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime operation, arrested four alleged drug peddlers, including one woman, with 10.280 kilograms of ganja in the district last night. The operation took place in the Belpukur bypass area under Belpukur Police Station in Rajshahi metropolis.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals were identified as Muhammad Riaz, 25, and his sister Lipi Begum, 32, both from Jagdishpur village under Madhabpur Upazila in Habiganj district. Alongside them, Ziaur Rahman, 40, from the same village, and CNG Driver Sohag Ali, 26, from Satrasia Bujpara village under Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj district, were also apprehended. The arrests occurred after the RAB team conducted a raid based on a tip-off and found the ganja during a search of a CNG vehicle around 9.30 pm.
The detained individuals, along with the seized contraband, were handed over to the police. Subsequently, a case was filed with Belpukur Police Station in connection with the incident.
