Dhaka: Farida Khandker, the wife of AK Khandker, who served as the Deputy Chief of Staff during the Liberation War, Commander of the air operation ‘Kiloflight’ in the Liberation War, and former Chief of Air Staff, has passed away. She died while receiving treatment at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farida Khandker was 82 years old at the time of her passing. She leaves behind a family of two sons, one daughter, and three grandchildren.
The current Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, has expressed deep shock and extended his heartfelt condolences to Farida Khandker’s family. He also offered prayers for the eternal peace of her soul.
Her funeral prayer, or namaz-e-janaza, is scheduled to take place at the BAF Shaheen Mosque in Dhaka next Wednesday after the Asr prayers. Following the prayer, she will be laid to rest at the BAF Shaheen Graveyard.
