Chattogram: The people of 61 villages in Chattogram district will celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Azha tomorrow, one day ahead of the rest of the country. All preparations have been completed to celebrate the sacred religious festival.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, followers of two renowned religious centres in Chattogram-Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif of Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazilas-usually celebrate their Eid-ul-Azha festival in line with Saudi Arabia and other Middle-East Muslim countries. Several hundred devotees from the two religious centres in 61 villages across Patiya, Chandanaish, Satkania, Anowara, Banshkhali, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Boalkhali, and Fatikchari upazilas in Chattogram, as well as some other upazilas in Feni and Chandpur districts, will partake in the celebration tomorrow with due religious fervor and festivity.
A total of 76 Eid congregations will be held at these 61 villages, including two of the largest at Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Elahabad village in Chandanaish, scheduled for 7 am on Friday morning. Additionally, eight large congregations will take place in other upazilas of the district in the morning.
Chattogram district police sources confirmed that they have implemented all necessary security measures to ensure the peaceful celebration of the religious festival.
