Jhenaidah: The joint forces comprising police and military personnel arrested a man with a firearm alongside ammunition and some lethal weapons in a predawn raid today at a village in this western district, police said. Jhenaidah police stated that the raid was carried out on the basis of a tip-off at Goyeshpur village in Mohespur upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the man arrested is Jewel Rana, son of Jashim Uddin. Authorities seized a foreign-made revolver with two bullets, some locally-made weapons, and three mobile phones from his possession. Officer-in-charge of Moheshpur police station, Saiful Islam, mentioned that the subsequent legal process was underway to bring the man to justice.
