Dhaka: The government has allocated TK 4,899 crore for the Ministry of Public Administration in the proposed budget for the fiscal year (FY) 2025-26. This allocation marks an increase of TK 753 crore from the revised budget of the previous FY 2024-25.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed proposed the allocation following the unveiling of a TK 7,90,000 crore proposed national budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Of the total allocation for the Ministry of Public Administration, TK 4,261 crore is suggested for operational purposes, while TK 638 crore is earmarked for development projects.
Additionally, the proposed budget includes TK 149 crore for the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), which is TK 67 crore higher than the revised budget for FY 2024-25. This allocation reflects the government’s focus on enhancing the operational and developmental capacities of the public administration sector in the forthcoming fiscal period.
