Rajshahi: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken all necessary measures for the removal of sacrificial animal waste within the night to avert environmental pollution in the city. As part of the efforts, the RCC has fixed the selective spots for slaughtering sacrificial animals on the forthcoming day of Eid-Ul-Azha in the city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, RCC Administrator and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Khandaker Azim Ahmed revealed this while addressing a meeting with all of his divisional heads and others concerned at his city bhavan conference hall. Chief Executive Officer Rejaul Karim, Chief Health Officer Dr. Anjuman Ara Begum, and Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun also spoke at the meeting.

Khandaker Azim Ahmed stated that the city corporation is working for the safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within the stipulated time so that city residents can experience a clean environment promptly. He urged residents to slaughter animals only in designated areas to maintain cleanliness and prevent pollution.

The Administrator emphasized the importance of planned and hygienic slaughtering to protect public health from infectious diseases. He noted the necessity of collective efforts to control community-level zoonotic diseases.

The meeting outlined plans to clean all major roads from 11 am, with two water tanks to be engaged from 2 pm to remove and clean all blood-stained waste. Additionally, bleaching powder and lime will be sprayed at slaughtering sites to prevent bad odors and protect the environment.
