Chapainawabganj: Corrugated iron sheets, cash money, and dry food were distributed among the underprivileged and helpless people in Shibganj upazila of the district this afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Md Abdus Samad led the distribution as the chief guest at a function held at the Upazila Parishad premises, supported by funding from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and the Social Services Department.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 24 families in the upazila received a bundle of corrugated tin and cash checks amounting to Taka 3 thousand each. Additionally, 53 families were provided with dry food while 52 families received financial assistance during the event.
The function, presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Azahar Ali, saw the participation of several key officials. Among those present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tawfiq Aziz, Upazila Engineer Md Harun-or Rashid, Project Implementation Officer Md Mizanur Rahman, Social Service Officer Md Nurul Islam, and Upazila Education Officer Md Musabbir Hossain Khan.
