Dhaka: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected to occur in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, commencing this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the met office has indicated that thunder showers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds are expected in many areas of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, a few locations in the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions might also experience similar weather conditions.
The met office has further stated that the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may witness moderate to heavy rainfall. The southwest monsoon has already advanced to the Chattogram division, with favorable conditions for further progression.
A low-pressure area is anticipated to develop over the North Bay of Bengal and its neighboring regions by tomorrow. Meanwhile, the day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, while a slight drop in night temperatures may occur across the country.
On Sunday, Feni recorded the country’s maximum temperature at 36.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature today was 23.3 degrees Celsius at Tetulia. Sylhet saw the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, recording 140 millimeters by 6 am today.
