Khulna: A joint forces team in a drive last night arrested three individuals from Batiaghata upazila in the district. The arrested are allegedly close associates of Babu, alias Grenade Babu.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrestees were identified as Kala Tuhin, Ahsan, and Habib. Major Debashish, who led the drive, stated that the joint forces team conducted operations around 10 pm in the Chakrakhali Bazar area of Batiaghata upazila after receiving information that the suspects had gathered in a secluded area to commit crimes.
The team successfully apprehended the trio at the scene, while others managed to escape upon realizing the presence of law enforcement agencies. From the possession of the arrested individuals, the team recovered one revolver, one gun, 17 bottles of foreign liquors, one and a half kilograms of gunpowder, a large number of sharp weapons, two motorcycles, and 10 mobile phones.
Major Debashish mentioned that several cases have been filed against the arrestees, and they, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Batiaghata Police Station.
