Riyadh: Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul has urged Jordan to recruit more male workers from Bangladesh in the agriculture, tourism, and construction sectors. He emphasized the importance of facilitating visa procedures to accommodate this potential influx of workers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Nazrul made this call during a meeting with Jordanian Labour Minister Khaled Mahmoud Al-Bakkar. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 7th Global Occupational Safety and Health Conference (GOSH7) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both parties agreed to enhance information exchange and cooperation between the two countries to support this initiative.
In a related meeting, OIC Labour Centre Director General Azar Bayramov expressed optimism regarding increased labor cooperation among OIC countries. He highlighted the potential for collaborative efforts to improve living standards for workers.
Dr. Asif Nazrul led the Bangladesh delegation, which included Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Dr. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, and Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, M. Delwar Hossain.
