Dhaka: Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has issued a stern warning that none involved in repeated attacks on National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Hasnat Abdullah will be spared. "No one who tries to commit such incident again will be spared," he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser's remarks came in response to a question following a bilateral meeting with Italian Interior Affairs Minister Matteo Piantedosi at the Home Ministry's conference room in Bangladesh Secretariat. He also disclosed that fifty-four individuals have already been arrested in connection with the incident.

The attack on Hasnat Abdullah, the NCP's Chief Organizer for the Southern region, occurred on Sunday evening while he was traveling through Gazipur. The incident took place around 7:00 pm at the Chandna intersection on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, en route to Dhaka. During the assault, Hasnat's vehicle was vandalized, and he sustained injuries to his arm.
