Taiyeb Warns About Massive Cyber Attack Ahead of National Election

Dhaka: Chief Adviser’s special assistant to the ICT ministry, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, today issued a warning regarding potential massive cyber attacks targeting the country’s digital infrastructure and the spread of rumors and misinformation in the lead-up to the national election. Taiyeb highlighted the likelihood of facing one of the largest cyber attacks in the nation’s history, driven by collaborative efforts from both native and foreign entities. He emphasized the potential for significant misinformation on social media platforms aimed at misleading the public.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Taiyeb shared these concerns while addressing a workshop focused on Digital Verification and Fact-Checking at the ICT tower in Agargaon. The event was attended by district information officers who gathered to discuss strategies to combat the anticipated threats.



Taiyeb urged government officials to remain vigilant in order to effectively counter these cyber threats. His call to action underscores the importance of preparedness and proactive measures to safeguard the nation’s digital landscape during the election period.
