Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the squad for the first two one-day matches against visiting New Zealand A. Nurul Hasan Sohan has been appointed as the captain for these games, which include several players who have excelled in domestic competitions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anamul Haque Bijoy, who recently returned to the Test side during the Chattogram Test against Zimbabwe, has been included in the squad. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat also secured a spot after leading Abahani Limited to the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) title. Pacer Ebadot Hossain, who has been absent from the national team due to a lengthy injury layoff, is set to make an appearance in the first two games. The selectors have also recalled pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam to showcase their one-day credentials once again.
New Zealand A’s month-long tour will feature three one-dayers and two four-day matches against Bangladesh’s second-string team. The one-day series and the first four-day game will be conducted at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, while the series-closing second four-day game will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The one-day matches are scheduled for May 5, 7, and 10, with the first four-day game from May 14-17. The final four-day match is set for May 21-24.
New Zealand A has also revealed a 14-member squad for the tour, with Nick Kelly at the helm.
