Gazipur: Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club recorded their fourth victory in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football by defeating Chittagong Abahani Limited 3-2 at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ben Ibrahim Ouattara led Fakirerpool with two goals, while Md Sayed Hossen Sayem contributed one. Chittagong Abahani’s goals came from Shuvo Raj Bongshi and Faysal Ahmed.
The match was tied 1-1 at halftime. Chittagong Abahani took the lead in the 33rd minute with a goal by Shuvo Raj Bongshi, but Ben Ibrahim Ouattara quickly equalized for Fakirerpool in the 34th minute.
In the second half, Ouattara scored again in the 76th minute, giving Fakirerpool the lead. Sayed Hossen Sayem extended the lead with a goal in the 90+1st minute. Faysal Ahmed scored Chittagong Abahani’s second goal in the 90+3rd minute.
With this win, Fakirerpool increased their tally to 13 points from 13 matches. Chittagong Abahani remained at the bottom of the table with three points from the same
number of matches. In the first leg, Fakirerpool had defeated Chittagong Abahani 2-0 at the Mymensingh district stadium.
