Narayanganj: Three men sustained burn injuries this morning after a gas line exploded at a textile mill in the Kazi Para area of Rupganj upazila in the district. The injured were admitted to the emergency unit of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred around 8:00am at Manju Dyeing and Textile Mills in the Kazipara area of Rupsi, as reported by Abdullah Al Arefin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence. The injured individuals include Saiful Islam, 20, an accounts officer at the factory, security personnel Kabir Hossain, 45, and Hannan, 52.
The factory authorities indicated that excessive gas pressure in the RMS room of the Titas gas line led to the collapse of a wall and sparked a fire, which resulted in the injuries to the three men. This incident unfolded shortly after the night-shift workers had vacated the premises.
Liaqat Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj Police Station, confirmed the occurrence and stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the explosion.
