Lakshmipur: National Legal Aid Day was observed today in the district in a befitting manner aiming to ensure the rule of law, fundamental human rights and justice for all.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the theme for this year’s observance was “There is no joy in conflict, make a compromise, brother, Legal Aid is by your side, no need to worry.” To mark the occasion, a vibrant rally paraded through various streets of the town, concluding with a discussion held at the district judge court premises.
Senior district judge and chairman of the District Legal Aid Committee Md. Shahin Uddin presided over the discussion. District judge Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, chief judicial magistrate Mohammad Khorshedul Alam Sikder, additional superintendent of police Hasan Mostafa Swapan, and public prosecutor of the district and sessions judge court Md. Ahammad Ferdous Manik, among others, were present at the event.
