Dhaka: Two people were killed last night in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the Madhupur municipal area on the Tangail-Jamalpur highway under Madhupur upazila of the district. One of the deceased was identified as Helal Uddin, 55, son of late Hatem Ali, a resident of Charbhatkura village in Dhanbari upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that the accident occurred at midnight when the two vehicles collided head-on. The collision resulted in the death of the CNG driver on the spot, while the passenger sustained injuries. The injured passenger was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have stated that a case is currently under process in connection with the accident, as investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragic event.
