Dhaka: Khairul Kabir Khokon and Manjur Elahi have been elected as the new president and general secretary, respectively, of the Narsingdi district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP's Dhaka division organizing secretary Kazi Saydul Alam Babul announced the election results at a meeting held at the BNP chairperson's political office in Gulshan. The announcement was made on Saturday afternoon, as per a press release shared by the BNP Media Cell.
The election saw participation from various leaders within the district. The joint convener, top five leaders of upazila and municipality chapters, along with the presidents and general secretaries of union and ward branches across the district, cast their votes to elect the new leadership.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was present at the meeting virtually, serving as the chief guest. The meeting was moderated by BNP's Dhaka division assistant organizing secretary, Benazir Ahmed Titu, with additional participation from assistant organizing secretary Nazrul Islam Azad and central executive committee member Sattar Patwari.
