Seminar on Higher Education and Research Opportunities in Russia Held at BRUR

Rangpur: A seminar focusing on ‘Research and Higher Education in Russia’ was conducted at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) for its teachers and students.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event took place on Saturday afternoon at the virtual classroom of Academic Building-2 and was attended by the Vice-chancellor of BRUR, Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali, who served as the chief guest. The seminar also featured notable guests of honor, including Professor Dr. Md. Ilias Pramanik, Director of the Office of Student Affairs at BRUR, Dr. Md. Harun-or Rashid, the university’s Registrar, Pavel Dvoychenkov, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Dhaka, and Dr. Md. Ziaul Hasan, Treasurer of Stamford University.



During his address, the Vice-chancellor emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for students to learn different languages as part of their skill development beyond academic studies. He highlighted that learning Russian locally would facilitate the pursuit of higher education in Russia for BRUR students and researchers. He further noted the significance of language and cultural exchange in enhancing the relationship between Russia and Bangladesh.



The Vice-chancellor urged the relevant authorities to create more opportunities for BRUR students to engage in higher education and research at various universities in Russia. The seminar saw participation from teachers and students across different departments of the university.
