Bangladesh Amateur Open-2025 Concludes with Success

Savar: The closing ceremony of the ‘Bangladesh Amateur Open-2025’ was held today at the hall room of Savar Golf Club in Savar Cantonment. Chief of Army Staff and President of Bangladesh Golf Federation, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, attended the event as the chief guest, as mentioned in an ISPR release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Army Chief, while speaking after the prize distribution, expressed hope that such tournaments would significantly contribute to the development of golf in the country. He also extended his gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event.



A total of 102 golfers from seven countries, including Bangladesh, participated in the tournament. In the men’s singles category, Bangladeshi soldier Md Sahab Uddin emerged as the champion, with Pakistan’s Noman Elias securing the runner-up position. The men’s team event saw Malaysia’s Harij Hejri and Farij Ajihan winning, while Bangladesh’s Mehedi Hasan and Munna Mia finished as runners-up.



In the women’s singles, Pakistan’s Aniya Farooq Sayeed claimed the championship, and Parkha Ijaz of Pakistan was the runner-up. The women’s team event was also won by Parkha Ijaz and Aniya Farooq Sayeed, with Bangladesh A team’s Nasima Akhter and Sonia Akhter as runners-up.



The closing ceremony was attended by senior military and civilian officials, the Chief Executive Officer of Savar Golf Club, the Chairman of the tournament committee, members of the executive committee, sponsors, other dignitaries, players, and media personnel.
