Munshiganj: Two motorcyclists were killed in two separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj today. The deceased were identified as Faruk-uz-Zaman, 40, from Shaltha area of Faridpur, and Alimul, 27, from the Kaunia area of the Rangpur district. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hasara Highway Police Station Abdul Quader Jilani confirmed the matter.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an unidentified vehicle hit a Dhaka-bound motorcycle from behind in the Nimtola Rail Station area of Sirajdikhan upazila on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway at 9 am, leaving the rider Faruk dead on the spot. Police sources provided details about the incident.
In the other accident, an anonymous truck hit a Dhaka-bound motorcycle from behind in the Hasara area of Sreenagar upazila on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway at 3 am, leaving motorcycle driver Alimul and his pillion rider, Abdul Rahman, injured. Sreenagar Fire Service personnel responded swiftly and transported them to the hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Alimul dead.
The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families, as confirmed by OC Jilani.
