Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,839 cases against motor vehicles for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a media release from the DMP stated that the cases were filed and fines collected on Monday, April 23, during regular operations targeting traffic rule violators. The DMP’s efforts led to a total of 445 motor vehicles being dumped and 122 vehicles towed due to poor driving practices, as confirmed by Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP.
The media release emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts by the DMP to ensure discipline on city streets. The DMP is actively working to streamline the traffic system in the capital to facilitate easier movement for city residents.
