Mymensingh: The exciting final match between Abahani Limited Dhaka and Bashundhara Kings of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football has been postponed due to insufficient light. The match was tied 1-1 in the stipulated ninety minutes and eventually went into extra time after both teams failed to break the deadlock at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match faced an untimely interruption after just fifteen minutes of extra time due to insufficient lighting, making it impossible to continue. The referees took the decision to postpone the match, and the Bangladesh Football Federation professional league management committee will determine the future course of action regarding the final match at a later stage.

The final, however, began on time but was halted when a heavy shower forced the play to stop just two minutes into the second half. The entire field was rendered unplayable due to a violent storm, as water accumulated on the ground. Once the rain ceased, it took nearly 40 to 45 minutes to drain the water and make the field suitable for play. Consequently, the game went into extra time, and daylight could not be utilized properly.
