Sunamganj: The government has announced the cancellation of leave for officials involved in overseeing the paddy harvesting process across 12 upazilas in the district until the harvest concludes. This measure is aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted and efficient harvesting season.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the officials affected by this decision include the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), upazila assistant commissioner (land), agricultural officials and employees at both district and upazila levels, as well as officers from the Water Development Board. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to support the agricultural sector during this critical period.
Deputy Commissioner of the district, Dr. Mohammad Elias Miah, made the announcement during a press briefing held at the conference room. The press briefing also featured the presence of key figures such as the Executive Engineer of the Water Development Board, Mamun Hawladar, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Mostafa Iqbal Azad, who emphasized the importance of this directive for the successful completion of the harvesting season.
