Pahela Baishakh Celebrated with Festive Spirit in Rangamati

Rangamati: Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla New Year-1432, is being celebrated in Rangamati with vibrant festivities and traditional fervor today. The district witnessed a colorful procession organized by the district administration, marking the start of the celebrations.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the procession was inaugurated by Zila Parishad Chairman Agriculturist Kajal Talukder at the Rangamati Municipality premises at 8 am. The event saw the participation of several notable figures, including Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Farhad Hossain, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin. Political figures such as District BNP General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, District Jamaat General Secretary Md. Mansurul Haque, and LDP General Secretary Md. Didarul Alam also attended, along with other administrative officials.



Participants, dressed in colorful traditional attire, marched enthusiastically in a parade that started at the municipality premises and concluded at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The procession traversed various roads of the town, showcasing the cultural richness of the occasion.



Following the lively procession, a traditional folk fair was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, further enhancing the festive spirit. The celebrations continued with a cultural program at the Abdul Ali stage of the deputy commissioner’s office, bringing together the community in a joyous celebration of the new year.
