Khulna: The Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has implemented security measures, including the enforcement of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, around 32 examination centers for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in the city. These measures will be in place for three hours during the exams.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, similar restrictions under Section 144 will be applied in the district and across the country during the examinations, which are set to commence on April 10. Md Zulfiqar Ali, the police commissioner of KMP, has issued an order prohibiting gatherings of five or more people within 200 yards of the examination centers throughout the duration of the exams.
The order further restricts the carrying of arms, sharp weapons, sticks, and explosive materials in the vicinity of the exam centers. Additionally, sound pollution from loudspeakers and electronic devices is prohibited, and Photostat machines near the exam centers are to be shut off.
A total of 1,41,064 students, including 71,979 girls, are expected to participate in the SSC examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education this year. These students will take their exams at 299 centers in 10 districts under the Jashore Board, along with other education boards in the country, as stated by Professor Dr Abdul Matin, the controller of Examinations of the Board.
