Chittagong: A vessel named MV MD SEA carrying 12,700 tonnes of Sunned (Atap) rice from Vietnam under the Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement (Package-1) has arrived at Chittagong Port. This shipment marks a significant step in the ongoing contract between the two countries to import 100,000 tonnes of Atap rice. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the agreement has already facilitated the arrival of 60,000 metric tonnes of rice prior to this latest shipment. The rice, which is still on the ship, has undergone sample testing. Authorities have ensured that the necessary measures are in place to commence the unloading process at the earliest opportunity.
