Koko’s Mother-in-Law Mukarrema Reza Passes Away

Dhaka: Mukarrema Reza, mother-in-law of late Arafat Rahman Koko, the youngest son of Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, passed away at a city hospital early today. She was 71.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, she breathed her last at about 3:45 am while receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after a week of being admitted to the hospital with multiple health issues, as stated by family sources. She is survived by her two sons and one daughter. Her husband, HM Hasan Reza, a former Engineer of RAJUK, died in 2017.



Mukarrema Reza’s Namaz-e-Janaza will be held after Asr prayers at the Old DOHS ground in Banani, and then she will be laid to rest at Banani Graveyard. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, in a condolence message this morning, expressed shock and sorrow at her death. He remarked on her dedication to raising her children with affection and effort, and her respect within the community.



Additionally, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed his condolences in a separate message, praying for the salvation of her soul and conveying sympathy to her family.
