Dhaka: The public administration ministry has issued a stern warning that government employees will not qualify for promotion if they fail to update their personal information on the Government Employee Management System (GEMS). This directive has been communicated as an urgent notice by Mohammad Mahbubul Alam, the additional secretary of the ministry.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry has emphasized the necessity for government employees to update their personal information on GEMS without delay. Employees are also required to upload their color photographs, which must be taken within the past six months, to ensure their records are current.

The notice clearly states that those who do not comply with the directive will not be eligible for promotion. This measure is part of the ministry’s effort to streamline the promotion process and maintain accurate records of employees within the government system.
