Barisal: Fifty two dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period, twenty-eight patients were hospitalized in the Barisal division, sixteen were admitted in the Chittagong division, and six were hospitalized in the Dhaka division, with each patient admitted in Dhaka North City Corporation and the Khulna division hospitals, as stated in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
This year, the total number of dengue cases has risen to 1,954, while there have been 14 deaths reported from the disease during the same period. In the past 24 hours, 23 dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals. Among the total cases, 1,849 patients have already been released, the DGHS statement added.
Last year, the country recorded 575 dengue-related deaths and a total of 1,100,214 dengue cases.
