Sadullapur: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General (DG-Investigation-2) Motahar Hossain has highlighted the importance of instilling a patriotic spirit in children to nurture a corruption-free Bangladesh. ‘As today’s children are the future of the country and they would lead the nation towards desired development in course of time, it is our foremost duty to awaken patriotism among them from their childhood,’ he said. ‘If we are able to make the children aware about patriotism, the country would be turned into a corruption-free one in future,’ he added.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ACC DG made these remarks while addressing a scholarship distribution event for meritorious students from various high schools and colleges at Dr. R.A Gani School and College in Sadullapur upazila. The event was organized by the Ayub Ali-Rahima Khatun Foundation on Tuesday afternoon.
The function was graced by DC Choudhury Muazzam Ahmed as the chief guest, while notable figures such as Civil Surgeon Dr. Rafiquzzaman, UNO Quazi Mohammad Anik Islam, BNP district unit president Dr. Mainul Hasan Sadik, general secretary Mahadunnabi Titul, and National Citizen Party organizer Nazmul Hasan Shohag attended as special guests. The speakers emphasized the role of teachers in providing quality education to help students grow into patriotic and worthy citizens, contributing to a discrimination and corruption-free, prosperous Bangladesh.
Earlier in the event, honorary crests were presented to the close relatives of families of martyrs and injured persons from the upazila, acknowledging their contributions during the July-August uprising.
