Two Terrorists Arrested with Arms and Ammunitions in Khulna

Khulna: Police have arrested an illegal arms dealer and a notorious terrorist from the city early today, recovering a significant cache of firearms and ammunition from their possession.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) reported that the suspects were apprehended at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), where they had been admitted following a gunfight with a rival group.



The gunfight occurred at Bangalbari Road under Harintana police station in the city last night, as stated by Ahsan Habib, additional deputy commissioner of KMP. The arrested individuals have been identified as Khairul Sarder, 27, from Khataltola village in Dumuria upazila, and arms trader Faruk Hossain, son of the late Abdul Khaleque from Pirojpur.



Law enforcement officials recovered two foreign pistols, a shotgun, seven cartridges, eight rounds of pistol bullets, one empty cartridge, and a large machete from Faruk’s residence. In addition, police seized a Runner motorcycle and a mobile phone, which were reportedly used in the illegal arms trade.



Faruk confessed to his involvement in illegal arms trading, as confirmed by ADC Habib.
