Jashore: Father and daughter were killed and three others injured critically in a fatal road accident at Pulerhat Bus Stand in Sadar upazila of the district today. The deceased were Rubel Hossain, 32, and his ten-year-old daughter Oishi from the Mujgunni area of Khulna district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the injured included Jesmin, 28, Rubel’s wife, their four-year-old daughter Rayeba, and a pedestrian named Osman Ali, 19. Quoting locals, police reported that the accident occurred when a passenger bus collided with a motorbike in the area, resulting in the immediate death of bike rider Oishi and critically injuring four others.
Locals rushed to rescue the injured and transported them to Jashore General Hospital, where Rubel later succumbed to his injuries. In response to the tragic incident, locals set the bus on fire. Police subsequently intervened and seized the bus involved in the accident.
