Khaleda Zia Urges BNP Leaders to Unite for Democracy

Dhaka: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has called upon her party members to remain united in their efforts to establish democracy in the country. “We must cooperate with each other. We must establish the people’s right to vote through our united efforts,” she emphasized while addressing senior party leaders virtually from London. The event was held at the party’s Chairperson’s Gulshan political office on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the virtual meeting was also attended by the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who delivered a welcome speech. Khaleda Zia reassured her party members that their sacrifices and struggles have not been in vain and expressed confidence in achieving success. She extended Eid greetings to the countrymen and sought their prayers for prosperity.



The event saw the participation of Standing Committee Members Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, and Selima Rahman. Vice Chairmen Barkatullah Bulu and Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury were also present, while the session was moderated by publicity secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.
