Dhaka: Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) today assured the public that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to manage any potential issues during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. "We're ready to tackle any situation," he declared following a visit to the National Eidgah.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jahangir emphasized that there is no current threat of sabotage or attack. He stated, "Any sabotage or conspiracy will be dealt with strictly with the support of the people." The Home Adviser revealed that approximately 3,500 devotees, including several dignitaries, are expected to participate in prayers at the National Eidgah on Eid Day.
To ensure safety, Jahangir noted that law enforcement agencies are on the highest alert around the Eidgah ground. In response to inquiries, he addressed concerns about individuals who have fled to Kolkata, labeling them as criminals. "If they try to create sabotage by staying in Kolkata, action will be taken against them," he warned.
Jahangir also highlighted that comprehensive measures have been implemented to protect the lives and property of the public. As part of his oversight duties, he visited key locations such as Sadarghat Launch Terminal and Kamlapur Railway Station earlier in the day to assess the overall situation.
