Main Eid-ul-Fitr Congregation Scheduled at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan

Rangpur: The main congregation for Eid-ul-Fitr in Rangpur city will take place at the Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am. Khatib of the historical Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Alhaj Hafiz Kwari Moulana Md. Bayezid Hussaine, will lead the prayers.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, if the weather proves unfavorable, the first main Eid-ul-Fitr Jamat will be held at the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center at the same time, with a second congregation following at 9:00 am. High officials, dignitaries, academics, civil society members, and professionals are expected to attend the main congregation.



Efforts are being made by the Rangpur City Corporation, in collaboration with the district administration, Islamic Foundation, and Rangpur Metropolitan Police, to ensure all preparations are complete for the event. Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be organized at various locations across the city, including eight upazila headquarters, three municipalities, and rural areas in the district.



Decorations are underway at the Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan, with colorful flags and banners inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak’ adorning the main streets. Additionally, major buildings and streets will be illuminated and decorated for the festival.



In Rangpur city, other significant congregations will be held at several mosques and Eidgahs, including Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque and Rangpur Medical College Central Jam-e-Mosque, between 8:30 am and 9:30 am. Outside the city, Eid Jamats will occur at various locations, such as Mithapukur Central Eidgah and Badarganj Central Eidgah, between 8:30 am and 10 am.



Hundreds of Muslim devotees are anticipated to participate in special munajats, seeking divine blessings for peace, progress, and prosperity for the country, its people, and humanity.



Mizanur Rahman Mizu, the cleaning officer of Rangpur City Corporation, stated that preparations at the Collectorate Eidgah have been ongoing for several days under the supervision of the City Corporation administrator.



Md Habibur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Crime) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, noted that plainclothes detective surveillance has been increased to ensure the smooth organization of the Eid congregation. Police presence will be ensured at key Eidgahs, with patrols and check posts increased on main roads to maintain law and order.
