Commuter Train Service on Dhaka-Narayanganj Route Begins

Narayanganj: Aiming to lessen the sufferings of commuters, train service between Dhaka and Narayanganj began today. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Narayanganj, Mohammad Jahidul Islam Miah, inaugurated the train service at a ceremony here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after inaugurating the service, the DC stated that from now on, eight pairs of trains will run on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route every day. He mentioned that each train consists of 11 compartments, allowing a total of 1,176 passengers to travel at a time.



Present at the event were Superintendent of Police (SP) Narayanganj Prottus Kumar Majumder, Divisional Railway Transport Officer Anada Kumar Paul, central working committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Moinuddin Ahmed, and convener of Narayanganj city unit of BNP Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan.
